Worship

Our Worship Services are grounded in the rich tradition of the Anglican Church of Canada.  In worship, we see to deepen our relationship with God and each other through beautiful prayers and hymns which tell the story of God’s presence in our lives.

Our services are held at 9:00am every Sunday morning (and other times during special feast days such as Christmas Eve and Holy Week). Children and families are always welcome at weekly services and we have special family services several times throughout the year. Scroll down to see the calendar of events. If you are unable to come in person, we do offer an option for you to join online via Zoom.

Contact the church office for  the Zoom link, for more information about the services or if you would like to join our email-list.

Please contact the office if you are interested in baptism, marriage, confirmation or you would like to learn more about the sacraments.

St. George's supports the Châteauguay Food Bank, which offers emergency food to those in need in the community. Throughout the year we also collect donations for Christmas Food Baskets, in partnership with Connexion Church. The baskets are packed up and delivered by volunteers from the two churches.

Books

We offer regularly studies throughout the year, especially during key seasons like Advent and Lent.  There are also regular opportunities to join in courses with Montreal Diocesan Theological College.

Learning together, we grow in faith as individuals and as a community.

For our Lent Family Service there will be an interactive retelling of the Prodigal Son, a story which reveals how God loves us- no matter what! All are invited. There will be refreshments following the service.

For our Lent Study this year we are going to watch and discuss a film called "The Doctrine of Discovery: Stolen Lands, Strong Hearts". This is a film about a devastating decision, made over 500 years ago, which continues to profoundly impact Indigenous and Settler people worldwide. Pope Alexander VI ruled that the lands being discovered by European explorers at the time was “empty” land and its millions of Indigenous inhabitants were “non-human." This year we will look at this film, which was created by the Anglican Church of Canada in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commision's 94 Calls to Action. The Study begins this week, Tuesday March 18th from 7-8:30pm and will continue on April 1 and 8th. Please contact the church office for more information: saint.george.chateauguay@gmail.com.

Children and their parents are welcome at St. George's every Sunday and we have special family services and activities throughout the year.
